Louisiana Estate Planning Services

Aspen Estate Planning takes its name, and its inspiration, from groves of aspen trees that stretch toward the sky across much of North America. Those trees are remarkable for their beauty, with vibrant green or golden leaves reaching toward the sky atop slender white trunks, and for the sound their leaves make when they “quake” in the wind.

But what is most noteworthy about aspens is something you can’t see or hear: what lies beneath the surface. What appears to be a grove of individual aspen trees is, in fact, a single organism with thousands of stems. Connected by a massive underground root system, aspen groves have tremendous resilience that enables them to survive storms, fires, and floods. While individual aspen trees may live for 100 or 150 years, an aspen grove may survive for tens of thousands of years because of this interconnection.

The motivation behind Aspen Estate Planning is to provide the same kind of resilience to all individuals and families, through estate planning services designed to strengthen their connections and help them weather whatever challenges lie ahead—during their own lifetimes or after a loved one’s passing.

Our Approach to Our Estate Planning Services

Aspen Estate Planning’s focus is, and always will be, on the people the practice serves. Families take many different forms—and all of them deserve protection designed for their unique needs.

Estate planning can feel intimidating, especially when it feels like the process wasn’t built for relationships like yours. You may worry that your spouse or partner, the children you love, your chosen family, and even your pets, won’t be protected if something happens to you. But no one should have to fit into a legal checkbox to get peace of mind about the future.

As a former litigator, and someone who has personally been affected by bad estate planning, I have seen firsthand the conflict that can arise out of a lack of clarity. Because of this experience, I know how painful it can be when an estate plan doesn’t reflect real-life relationships, and how powerful it can be to have a plan that does. I established Aspen Estate Planning to offer my clients estate planning counsel that is inclusive, accessible, and personalized.

I also understand that life is busy, and that planning for the future often takes a back seat to day-to-day demands. I want to make estate planning not only comfortable and customized, but convenient. I meet with you through videoconference or travel to you, based on your preference, so you don’t have to take more time out of your busy day to get the peace of mind you and your loved ones deserve.

We’ll chat about your life, loved ones, and goals for your estate plan, and I’ll discuss with you my recommendations for your complete estate plan. When you work with me, I don’t simply provide you with a set of documents. I counsel you on the estate planning options that will meet your goals, and I help you decide which option works best considering your unique circumstances.

My goal is for the estate planning process to feel stress-free—like a kitchen-table conversation with a friend who really understands you, not just a cold legal transaction. No judgment, pressure, or jargon—just listening, then providing a smart, collaborative approach, and a comprehensive plan aligned with your values and goals. My mission is to provide estate planning services that strengthen the roots of your relationships—and everything those roots support.
